How to Grow Place in water. Give it light. Watch it sprout. That's it.
1
Place the Stump in WaterSet the wood stump in the provided pot or any small container — add water so the base is submerged about 1–2 cm. Don't submerge the entire log.
2
Place Near Indirect LightPut it near a window with indirect sunlight — not in harsh direct afternoon sun. Morning light or bright shade is perfect. The plant needs light to trigger sprouting.
3
Keep Water Fresh & Watch It GrowChange the water every 3–5 days to keep it clean. Within 1–3 weeks, green shoots will emerge from the bark. The leaves grow quickly once they start — enjoy watching it come alive.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to sprout?+
Typically 1–3 weeks after placing in water with adequate light. Some stumps sprout within a few days, others take longer depending on temperature and light conditions. Warmer temperatures (25–35°C) and bright indirect light speed up sprouting. Be patient — the stump is alive even when it looks dormant.
Does it really grow without soil?+
Yes — Brazil Wood is a hydroculture plant that draws nutrients from water and its own stored energy in the wood. Just keep the base submerged in clean water. You can optionally add a few drops of liquid plant fertiliser to the water every 2–3 weeks for faster, lusher growth, but it's not required.
Can I keep it in an AC room?+
Yes — it does fine in air-conditioned rooms as long as it gets some indirect light. Avoid placing it directly in the AC airflow as constant cold drafts can slow growth. Near a window in an AC room is ideal — it gets light without temperature stress.
Is it a good gift?+
Excellent gift — unique, auspicious, and impossible to kill. Perfect for housewarmings, birthdays, Diwali, office desks, and people who say "I kill every plant." The surprise of watching a wooden stump sprout green leaves makes it a memorable and conversation-worthy gift.
What if it doesn't sprout?+
Ensure the base is in water (not the whole log), it's near light (not in a dark corner), and the water is changed every few days. Most stumps sprout within 2–3 weeks under these conditions. If after 4 weeks there's no sign of growth, the stump may not be viable — reach out for a replacement under our 7-day return policy.
